In the Community
Murray’s proudly gives back to the neighborhood that’s been our home for over 70 years. After all, we couldn’t have done it without you!
We are proud to support many charitable organizations and neighborhood schools by donating our delicious cheeses and sharing our cheese knowledge with audiences all over the city. We aim to enrich the health, social, educational and cultural life of our community through these contributions, and place priority on a handful of local events and organizations in order to have the greatest impact.
These are just a few of the organizations that we support:
City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.
Just Food is a non-profit organization that connects communities and local farms with the resources and support they need to make fresh, locally grown food accessible to all New Yorkers. Just Food provides regional farmers and food producers, CSA organizers and everyday eaters with the resources and support they need to establish and experience healthy food systems—in every neighborhood.
The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation was founded in 1980 to preserve the architectural heritage and cultural history of Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo. GVSHP is a leader in protecting the sense of place and human scale that define the Village’s unique community.
Founded in 1902 as a settlement house to help New York’s increasing immigrant population adjust to life in a new country, today Greenwich House offers programs in social services, arts and education that provide thousands of New Yorkers with enrichment and cultural experiences.
Wellness in the Schools inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools across the country.
