Red, White & Blue Slushies


Whether it’s Memorial Day or Fourth of July, this colorful cooler is the ideal beverage. Wow your backyard barbecue guests with this slushie made from frozen berries, rum, and some mouthwatering jam from Sidehill Farm. Sidehill, known for its natural preserves and timeless recipes, is a Vermont institution that has been creating incredible jams and treats since 1976. Just line up the layers of this cool combination of bright, fruity flavor for a crowd-pleasing cocktail that will light up your summer soiree like fireworks.

preparation & ingredients

1 Cup Frozen Strawberries

1 Juice from half a lime

1 1/2 oz. Rum

1/4 Cup Ice Cubes

1 Tbsp. Sidehill Strawberry Jam

2 Tbsp. Cold Coconut Cream

1/2 Frozen Banana, sliced

1/4 Cup Frozen Pineapple

1 1/2 Oz. Rum

1/4 Cup Ice Cubes

1 Tbsp. Murray's Wild Blueberry Preserves

3/4 Cups Frozen blueberries

1 ½ Oz. Rum

1/4 Cup Ice cubes

Combine all red layer ingredients and blend just until smooth in a high-speed blender. Pour into a container and place in the freezer while you make the other layers. Rinse out the blender.
Combine all white layer ingredients and blend just until smooth in a high-speed blender. Pour into a container and place in the freezer while you make the blue layer. Rinse out the blender.
Combine all blue layer ingredients and blend just until smooth in a high-speed blender.
Pour your cocktails: divided the red layer among either 2 (large) or 4 glasses. You can use a disher to help you portion these equally and delicately, if you like. Next, very carefully divide the white layer amongst the glasses and gently pour or place on top of the red layer. Finally, very carefully divide the blue layer amongst the glasses and gentle pour or place on top of white layer.
