We take the ingredients up a notch with single malt scotch and Zotter Scotch Whisky Chocolate. The dark chocolate scotch smokiness gives this drink a complexity and richness that’s beyond words.

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, beat ½ cup heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the vanilla and powdered sugar and beat a moment more until stiff peaks are visible. Set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat ¼ cup heavy cream over medium low and crumble in the Zotter’s chocolate bar. Stir consistently until the chocolate has fully melted and incorporated into the warm cream.
  3. Turn off the heat and add the hot coffee to the saucepan. Stir to combine and pour even amounts into two mugs or heatproof glasses.
  4. Pour 1.5 oz. Irish whiskey and 1.5 oz. Scotch into each mug and stir to incorporate.
  5. Add a dollop of the reserved whipped cream atop each mug and serve.
  6. Pair with Project X, Gorgonzola Cremificato, and Brillat Savarin.
