Murray's Cheese first opened in Greenwich Village in 1940 – we’re the oldest cheese shop in New York City. We've been named "New York's Best Cheese Shop" by The Village Voice, Time Out New York and New York Press. We received a near-perfect rating of 29 for quality from the demanding readers of Zagat’s 2011 New York City Food Lover’s Guide. The New York Times calls Murray's a "local landmark" and "a mecca for New Yorkers" while Forbes.com declares us the "world's best cheese shop."
