- Assistant Retail Manager:
Murray's Cheese is seeking talented, experienced managers to join the teams at both of our NYC retail shops. Murray's is committed to providing the country's best cheese selection, and on making the experience of buying, eating and enjoying cheese approachable and pleasurable for everyone.
The ideal candidate will have:- 3+ years of food retail management experience, cheese and specialty foods preferred
- 1+ years experience in retail/restaurant management including cash handling, store security and physical plant related matters (repairs and maintenance)
- Experience with hiring, training,
developement and progressive discipline.

Financial understanding including labor budgets, sales
budgets, gross margin and how to positively impact all
controllable budget lines.

An understanding of how to build
effective displays and a commitment to Full, Fresh, Fronted
and Signed displays 100% of the time.

Murray's Cheese, New York's cheese Mecca is seeking full and part-time cheese lovers for employment at both our Bleecker Street and Grand Central locations.

Experience in food, retail, or cheese is a plus, but the passion and desire to learn is the most important attribute of a successful candidate. 8 hour shifts will fall in the range of Monday-Saturday 7 AM – 10 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 8 PM. Weekend and evening hours will be required. Starting salary is negotiable and a competitive benefits package is available after three months of employment. We are currently seeking employees who can commit to us for at least a year.

Affinage Internship: This internship is perfect for those who want a deeper understanding of the cheese business. The caves represent the heart of Murray's, and collaboration between the buying, selling, and production teams. Interns assist the affineur, or cave manager, in all of his tasks including: unpacking and checking quality on all incoming cheese, selecting product for both retail counters, hands-on cheese care, maintenance of the cave area and general inventory management.
Internships require a three month commitment. Applicants should be available for two full weekdays or three half weekdays, and must be able to work on Monday and/or Friday.
