PRIVATE CLASSES

TASTING CLASSES

We’re convinced that the best way to learn about cheese (and other fine foods) is to taste it. Gather a group of up to 24 for a 90-minute guided tasting in our private classroom overlooking our West Village shop. Or, bring a fromager to your home and invite up to 12 friends for a private class and tasting. We’ll give you an in-depth look at the world of cheese (and pairings).

PERFECT FOR

  • Small groups of 24 people or fewer
  • Birthday bashes, bachelorette parties, office outings and client entertaining

WHAT YOU GET

  • 90-minute guided tasting with a Murray’s trained Fromager (FRO-mahj-eh; a.ka. cheese expert)
  • Seated tasting where each student learns from a plate of 6 savory selections
  • Water, Bread, and selected accompaniments
  • Beverage Pairings (at Murray’s only)

WHY YOU WANT IT

  • It's part entertainment, part education (don't worry, we’re just as nerdy as you are), and part nourishment (yes, you do get rather full off a plate of cheese)
  • Because you don’t have access to 350 wine glasses
  • It's way cheaper than renting out a restaurant, and just as delectable
  • Because everyone and their mother has been to a wine tasting before… it’s time to try something just as fun and slightly more obscure.
  • It’s totally customizable to the interests of the group: choose from the basics of cheese tasting, regional tastings, pairings with wine, beer, or spirits, or other more esoteric offerings
