Coming from the Ferme de la Tremblaye, just outside of the village of La Boissiere-Ecole in Northern France, Murray's Brie Fermier contains notes of mushrooms and fresh shucked oysters within its oozy paste. Try it with some Jambon De Bayonne and Raincoast Crisps for a savory snack.

  • Murray's Brie Fermier is meant to mimic the raw milk Brie de Meaux that France is famous for, but is unavailable in the United States.
  • Many varieties of Brie exist, but only Brie de Meaux and Brie de Melun have official AOC certification.
  • AOC is short for the French “appellation d'origine contrôlée,” translating to “controlled designation of origin.”
  • Murray’s Brie Fermier is farmstead cheese made at the Ferme de la Tremblaye, outside of the village of La Boissiere-Ecole.
  • Fermier means farmstead in French, indicating that the farm does everything soup to nuts—raising the herd and collecting milk to make and age their cheese.
When you receive your cheese, unpack the order and refrigerate the items. We recommend using the cheese paper we send most of our products in to store the cheese. The cheese paper helps cover the items and stop them from drying out, while also allowing the cheese to breathe. Since cheese is mold, it's a living thing! If you cut off air circulation to the cheese, you can actually cause it to suffocate and spoil at a faster rate.
