Vermont Butter & Cheese Company was born from a request by a very particular French chef whose recipe for an important state dinner demanded goat cheese. Back in the early 1980s, such extravagant demands were not easily fulfilled.
The only woman in the land who could rescue the meal was Allison Hooper. As an American college student in France in the late '70s, she had spent time on a farm in Brittany, learning to love cheesemaking.
When she returned, the call from destiny came and her award-winning company was born. 25 years later, Vermont Butter & Cheese Company produces and distributes dozens of cow and goat milk products, supporting a network of more than 20 family farms, which provide milk meeting the highest standards of purity.
VBC Cheeses range from pure, fresh packaged goat cheeses to complex, ashed aged cheeses developed over the past several years.
Aside from these cheeses, VBC produces the best domestic fresh cultured products available. The spectacular cultured butter has 86% while commercial butter is about 80%. You'll find the VBC cultured butter extra rich with a depth of flavor beyond what you are used to. Enjoy slathered on crusty bread . We'll deliver both!
