Figgy Fizz Cocktail With Cheese Pairings


This bubbly cocktail is a perfect recipe to have in your back pocket for the holiday season. It's festive enough for Christmas and holiday gatherings—with sweet, sticky fig jam bringing figgy pudding to mind. But it's refined enough for New Year's Eve, thanks to Champagne (or any sparkling wine that fits your budget). A dash of lemon juice brings perfect balance. Cheers your way through the season alongside a variety of expertly selected cheeses, from a tangy goat's milk button to an aged bourbon washed wheel.

preparation & ingredients

3 Tbsp. Mitica® Fig Jam​

1 Tbsp. Northwoods Apiaries Knotweed Honey​

2 Tbsp. water

1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice

8 oz. Champagne or sparkling wine

1 fresh fig, halved vertically

Combine the water, jam, and honey in a microwave safe container, and heat for 1 minute or until honey and jam are warm and can be thoroughly mixed with the water. Strain and allow to cool. Once cool, stir in lemon juice.​
Split the jam mixture evenly between two champagne flutes. Top with champagne, and garnish each glass with a fig half. Enjoy with perfect cheese pairings!
