If a classic brie is the regular star of your cheeseboard, this Chevre d'Argental is a must-taste. It shares a similar flavor profile to a double creme brie in that it’s luxuriously creamy and buttery. The difference, however, is in the noteworthy tang that comes from its goat’s milk paste. A tender, supple rind gives this chèvre a refined appearance. Its gooey good looks make it cheese-plate ready, and the straightforward flavor pairs beautifully with a light-bodied white like chenin blanc.

- In French, “chèvre” simply means goat.
- Chèvre d’Argental ripens from the outside in. We call it a bloomy rind for the white mold that “blooms” on the rind, which is responsible for breaking down the interior paste and creating its silky texture.
- Chèvre d’Argental is produced in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, which is a region also well-known for its wines. Côtes du Rhône is one example of a wine made in this region.
