- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- While the water is boiling, bring cream to simmer in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat. Add Gorgonzola in pieces, whisking until melted. Keep warm on low heat.
- Cook gnocchi until the dumplings are tender and rise to surface, about 5 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer cooked gnocchi to pan with warm cream sauce and carefully combine, as the cooked gnocchi become very delicate.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, if desired, and serve immediately.
