Orange You Glad Cocktail with Cheese Pairings

It’s no surprise that orange is the standout flavor in our Orange You Glad cocktail. Yes, there’s rye’s peppery bite, sweet vermouth for balance, and a welcome acidic punch from lemon juice. But with Cointreau, artisanal orange marmalade, and blood orange juice, orange is the true star in this cocktail that awakens your palate with a citrusy kick.

preparation & ingredients

2 oz. rye whiskey

1 oz. Cointreau (or Grand Marnier or triple sec)

½ oz. sweet vermouth

¾ oz. Blake Hill Orange & Bourbon Marmalade

½ oz. lemon juice

½ oz. blood orange juice (preferably Natalie’s)

Orange peel

Paska Sirana Paski Sir

Murray’s High Plains Cheddar

Four Fat Fowl St. Stephen

Fill the taller cocktail shaker cup to the top with ice.
Fill cocktail glass with fresh ice.
In the shorter cocktail shaker cup, add the rye whiskey, Cointreau, sweet vermouth, marmalade, lemon juice, and blood orange juice.
Pour the contents of the shorter cup, over the ice, into the taller cup.
Secure both shaker cups, and shake vigorously for 10 seconds, or until shaker becomes frosty.
Pour shaken contents over a strainer into the cocktail glass.
Using a peeler or sharp paring knife, slice an orange peel and express the peel (for aroma) by twisting it over the glass. Add peel for garnish.
Pair with Paska Sirana Paski Sir, Murray’s High Plains Cheddar, and Four Fat Fowl St. Stephen. Enjoy!
