Sweeter than your average cheddar, Murray's High Plains Cheddar is the product of generations of Midwestern cheesemaking know-how. A family of Mennonite cheesemakers drew inspiration from classic, Alpine-style cheeses to create a creamy, crumbly cheddar with plenty of fruity, toasty notes. Balance out its sweetness with some Brooklyn Cured Smoked Beef Salami and Murray's Bread & Butter Pickle Chips.

  • Murray’s High Plains Cheddar is a cross between Alpine-style cheese and cheddar, meaning it shares characteristics of cheeses like Gruyère as well as cheddar.
  • The cheese is made by a family of Midwestern Mennonite cheesemakers, who capture the nutty, sweet flavors of Alpine-style cheeses in their distinctly American cheddar.
  • It’s creamy and crumbly, made from cow’s milk sourced from small, local Amish dairy farms.
  • None of these farms have more than 65 cows, and the herds graze on local pastures.
  • The toasty, fruity flavor profile of this cheese is best accented with a sweet strawberry jam or a glass of Rosé.
When you receive your cheese, unpack the order and refrigerate the items. We recommend using the cheese paper we send most of our products in to store the cheese. The cheese paper helps cover the items and stop them from drying out, while also allowing the cheese to breathe. Since cheese is mold, it's a living thing! If you cut off air circulation to the cheese, you can actually cause it to suffocate and spoil at a faster rate.
