Quality Italian The Bananagram Cocktail

A Sweet, Jammy, Refreshing Whiskey Cocktail
  • Quality Italian The Bananagram Cocktail made with Banana Jam and Balsamic Jelly
  • Quality Italian The Bananagram Cocktail strained through a fine strainer
  • Quality Italian The Bananagram Cocktail garnished with brulee'd banana and mint
Often, whiskey cocktails are designed to lean more towards the bitter end of the flavor spectrum. Just think about the two most storied whiskey drinks: the Old Fashioned and the Sazerac. Both call for literal bitters as an ingredient. But there’s so much more that can be done with whiskey, and our friend Bryan Shneider, bar manager at Quality Italian, has done so much more with it. The Bananagram is an unmistakably, gloriously whiskey-forward drink, one you might even spot on Quality Italian’s summer cocktail menu. But instead of turning toward the bitter, it has a subtle, natural sweetness, thanks to a bit of banana jam that’s shaken into it. For something complex, refreshing, a bit tropical, and still perfectly whiskey-y, give this drink a guzzle.
