Ingredients
- 2 Cups All-purpose flour
- ½ Cup Cocoa powder
- 1 Tsp. Kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp. Baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 2 Ea. Eggs
- 2 Cups Whole milk, warmed
- ¼ Cup plus more for serving butter, melted
- 1 Tsp. Vanilla extract
- Non-stick Canola spray
- 1 Ea. Cru Chocolate Guatemala 72% Dark Chocolate Bar 1.55oz, chopped
- Crown Bourbon Maple Syrup to Taste
Directions
- Mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs; then add the milk, butter, and vanilla. Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Add the chopped bittersweet chocolate and mix thoroughly. Let rest for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat a waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Preheat the oven to 200F.
- When the waffle iron has heated, cover each side with non-stick spray. Pour the recommended amount of batter into the iron and cook accordingly. Repeat until all of the batter has been used. Keep the waffles warm by placing them on a sheet tray and covering with tin foil. Keep the tray of waffles in the oven while cooking the rest.
- Serve with maple syrup and extra butter
