When you're gathering with friends for the big game, nothing beats a perfect sandwich. In our Game Day Sliders, we take ham and cheese to the next level with our supple, nutty 18 Month Aged Comté and herbaceous speck from Maestri d'Italia. The accompaniments bring in sweet, savory, and spicy flavors for a truly balanced bite, with lettuce and tomato for freshness. These mini sammies are simple to put together—the only cooking is toasting the buns and melting the cheese—making for stress-free entertaining that doesn't sacrifice on big, bold flavors.

preparation & ingredients

12 party slider buns

1/2 lb. Murray’s 18 Month Aged Comté, thinly sliced​

1/2 jar Three Little Figs French Onion Confit

1/2 jar Murray’s Apple Butter

2 2.5-oz. packages Maestri d'Italia Speck

1 jar Murray’s Spicy Jalapeño Pickle Chips​

1 package butter lettuce

3-4 beefsteak tomatoes, sliced into 12 rounds

1/4 stick Vermont Creamery Salted Butter, melted​

Gently pull apart the slider buns, cut each horizontally, and brush the insides lightly with melted butter. Toast, buttered-side-up, in an oven or toaster oven until golden brown. Add the slices of Comté to the top buns, dividing evenly across the 12, and broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.​
Spread the French onion confit and the apple butter on the sides with the melted cheese, dividing evenly across the 12 buns. Layer the speck atop the bottom buns, followed by one tomato slice and a butter lettuce leaf on each slider. Place two pickles on top of the lettuce. Add the top buns back on; skewer if desired.​
