Murray's Classic Melt

Whether you’ve visited our store on Bleecker Street in the Village or just love a classic grilled cheese, we’ve got the inside scoop on how to craft Murray’s signature melt like the experts in our shop. The ingredients are simple, but it’s this iconic blend that gives our melts the perfect ratio of sweet, sharp, and savory cheese to hit the spot--we’ve combined Gouda, cheddar, and Fontina in one three-cheese sandwich for timeless flavor that never goes out of style. Try adding crunchy cornichons or pickles to add some crunch, or dip into ketchup or hot sauce to spice things up.

2 oz Fontina Val D’Aosta, sliced

2 oz Maple Leaf Red Wax Gouda, sliced

2 oz. New York State Yellow Cheddar, sliced

2 slices Bread

Combine the cheese on a slice of bread and make into sandwich form.
Shred Gouda and Fontina cheese and mix with Mac & Cheese blend. Place melted butter on the grill and add 4 slices of bread.
Heat butter in a pan on the stove on medium high heat, until sizzling. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook until brown, about 3 minutes.
When the bottom side is browned, flip the sandwich and cook the other side until equal. Enjoy!
